1st November 2011: One day to make a difference Pledge a day's salary |
|
In celebration of our sixth birthday we wanted to ask:
You won’t need injections, you won’t need a passport and you won’t need to buy an expensive flight! Instead, we would like you to pledge one day’s salary to help our work in Nicaragua on 1st November 2011.
Your day’s salary could help: - save a family from walking for four hours to collect water every day (by investing in a rainwater harvesting system to collect and store rainwater from roofs)
- save a forest from slash and burn farming (by training local farmers in sustainable alternatives such as beekeeping and fruit production)
- save a community from drinking water contaminated by arsenic (by measuring arsenic levels in rural water supplies and developing arsenic-free water sources where none exist)
- save a child from dying from preventable disease (by supporting our work in health advocacy to make basic healthcare accessible to all) To pledge your support for this campaign, please sign up online, or by text, e-mail or Facebook.
I pledge one day's salary to support the work of Nuevas Esperanzas in Nicaragua. |
